Peggy's Health Center is proud to announce its latest addition to our staff. We are happy to have
Naturopath, Lisa Ayala, starting on Tuesday, April 2 and every Tuesday thereafter. Lisa has
been in business for over 10 years and will bring these diverse consultation specialties to Peggy's
Health Center and available to you: Iridology (the science of reading the Iris of the eyes); Herbalist,
Muscle Testing and Nutrition.
Lisa has worked extensively with a variety of ailments, particularly digestive complaints (Chron's, colitis,
and inflammatory bowel problems), asahma, allergies, women's issues, diabetes and more.
And don't forget your pet! Lisa also works with animals, predominantly cats and dogs.
One of Lisa's most profound health stories is actually one of her own. Before her studies, when she was a
client of an Herbalist, she had an ovarian cyst. The doctor wanted to do surgery, but Lisa sought nutritional
support through her Herbalist. The individual herbal program was created and the cyst literally fell out in the
toilet in Lisa's next menstrual cycle. The problem never returned.

What's French for "Longevity"?
Reservatrol has been suspected by many to be the protective factor in red wine responsible for the "French Paradox,"
a theory about how French can eat such a High fat diet and not suffer from heart disease. Any benefits from
reservatrol had been attributed to its antioxidant capabilities. Sinclair has demonstrated that it stimulates
an enzyme in yeast that increases the organisms lifespan by 70 percent.
Naturally occurring in dark grape skins and seeds, peanuts, and Japanese knotweed (a fixture in Chinese and
eastern medicines for centuries as a cure for heart and liver maladies), among other plants, reservatrol is
produced by plants to help fend off attack from molds and other pathogens. As a consequence, its presence in
grapes is proportional to the molds, yeasts and other environmental pressures that exert an oxidizing attack

valleys) produce grapes with higher reservatrol content than dry, temperate California or Australia.
Research and Findings about Reservatrol
Reservatrol promotes the clearing of brain plaques implicated in Alzheimer's disease - "Reservatrol, a naturally
occurring polyphenol mainly found in grapes and red wine, markedly lowers the levels of secreted and intracellular
amyloid-beta (Abeta) peptides produced from different cell lines."
Reservatrol is one of a select group of compounds that prevents the proliferation of cancerous cells. - "Overall
these results indicate that aspirin and ibuprofen are least potent, while reservatrol, curcumin, celecoxib, and
tamoxifen are the most potent anti-inflammatory and antiproliferative agents of those we studied."
Reservatrol inhibits the flu virus. - "Reservatrol, a chemical found in grapes and other fruits, inhibits the
reproduction of influenza viruses in cell culture and mice, according to a recent report in the Journal of Infectious
Diseases. Rather than directly attacking the flu virus itself, reservatrol seems to block host-cell functions that
are essential for viral replication."

We are never too old to change and get rid of unhealthy habits. Statistically the expectancy of living is getting
higher and higher for all, thus we want to have proper diet, exercise and lifestyle that will enhance our chances
to live without disease and plenty of energy to pursue our dreams.

now to increase your odds of living a long, healthy life:
1. Raise Your Hands High: Orchestra conductors live longer than the general population. That's because they
must keep their arms elevated for extended periods, during which time they're in constant motion. Both of these
conditions strengthen the heart. You can get the same benefits by conducting music at home. Simply grab a stick,
wand, coat hanger, or whatever is handy; play your favorite music; and conduct away! Not only will you be
supporting your heart, but listening and moving to music is a great way to reduce stress.
